I started eating a vegetarian diet last year in December after consuming fish + shellfish as my source of meat for almost two years; with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas because I must have livers in my dressing w/a gibblet gravy and OMG…can’t live without my Christmas Ham. I tried veganism for a week, but it wasn’t for me cause I love cheese (mmmmmm chhheeeseeee)!!!

I’ve decided to add meat back into my diet…I’m burned out on protein supplements and I need more than what I’m getting from legumes and veggies if I want my dream body. I’m just adding fish and chicken though with very, very minimal chicken. Quite honestly, I’m just not a huge chicken fan unless it’s practically drowned in some type of sauce.

So, I’m back to being an omnivore. I’m curious to see how my body changes with P90X and a different nutrition approach. I’ll keep ya posted.

I was just telling my husband that I needed to invest in bigger earrings since my hair is getting longer. When I checked my mail a few days later, I had a package from Yumna + much to my surprise there were beaded hoops included with  this sweet note. So not only do I now have my first pair of “big” hoops; they came from one of my favorite jewelry makers Sarah of Sarenzo Beads!! Both of these ladies are awesome and have added that touch of sweetness that I needed to make this week beautiful. Thanks to you both.

I’m always up for a good challenge. My friend sent me an event invite that challenges women to start dressing more feminine like our ancestors. I was all over it. I’d been making the switch from throwing on my cross trainers and jeans for about a year + I just raided my grandmother’s closet a few months ago for some of her dresses. I need to alter some of them cause they are a lil too retro..lol. It lasts from March 01, 2001 to July 01, 2011. Here’s the mission (taken from the FB fan page)…

Mission:1. We will ROCK dresses (skirts) and heels like our mothers and grandmothers at least THREE (3) days a week.

2. We will reject the IMPULSE to throw on jeans, jogging suits (EVEN THE CUTE KIND), and dress slacks.3. We will exchange our revelations and thoughts throughtout this challenge.

4. We will invite our friends to join.5. We will include our daughters and young women we mentor.

6. We will take Pictures and Have FUN!!!!7. Everyone is welcomed to participate.

Exceptions: Flattering/Very Feminine Dress Suits are ALLOWED.
I just finished the Vegan Challenge (next blog post) with my husband + I couldn’t have been more proud of what I accomplished. The challenge is for at least 3 days a week, so I think I can handle that…at least for about a month, then I’ll have to get to sewing. Guess I’ll start on one of the many dress patterns I have in my room. I love it!!
